Delays, delays

So. Been a fun month. I'm in motion, getting servers and backups done. After recent news of two different sites that had been wiped out by a lack of good (or in one case, any) backup procedures, I'm starting THERE. Also, because I'm using very low-cost services for hosting (SliceHost and Mosso at the moment), I'm making sure I can restore the server quickly if something goes horribly wrong. (Which is sort of like backup, but sort of not: it's the scripting of all the server software installation that I'll need, before the backups kick in and the database and web files are restored.)

People from my old job have seen me, and mentioned I look a lot more relaxed. I feel different. Focused. The excitement and fear I mentioned early on, has kind of merged... I'm not terrified, despite the economy and the competition. But I'm also not wildly dreaming of the future, of some far off future... the sense that I need to have something up and running, really soon, is strong. So. Focused.

Planned a lot in the last month, schedule and code. Not a lot. I'm not Mr. Process Guy. Just as much as I need to tell me what's coming, and what I need to have done.
